Evaluation Q3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

A Zoe and Emily media production” makes low budget romantic comedies and musicals aimed mainly at females of any age that don’t take life too seriously.

They type of media institution distributing our media product depends on what sort of film we are making and also the budget to go along with it. Our media film was a low budget romantic comedy so will appeal to a smaller more niche market of viewer who will be able to view this in small independent cinemas or old fashion screenings or maybe in the summer shown at film festival that are willing to show independent films that have been made on a small budget. The target audience will mainly be teenagers who are in the type of film they watch and helping the British film industry survive so they are able to carry on making more films.

As it is an independent film it should be shown in smaller and independant cinemas, such as old cinemas and even exhibitions. As film can also be seen on the internet and our film is a low cost bidget rom com this will probablly be most likely were it will be distrubuted. This would be suitable as our audience are teenage girls and teenagers are known for spending alot of time on the internet. 

I think that our media product would be better suited shown in smaller cinemas in the UK seen as it is an english film and the backing of large production and distrubuting companies is not applicable. However if our film were to be a high budget film made in America the chances of making a larger profit and the filom becoming more recognisable and popular would increase greatly.

A good company to promote the distribution of this would be fim 4 a well known film channel and also a distrubution compnay.The film could be shown at one of there event such as the summer screen night at the somerset house. The outdoor setting would be ideal for our target audience of women who would enjoy being outside watching a chick flick on a summers evening.
